SAC Baseball Sweeps Citrus to Reach Regional Final

SANTA ANA, Calif - Santa Ana College baseball swept the Citrus Owls in the 3C2A Super Regionals to advance to the finals where they will host the Fullerton Hornets from May 15-17.
In game one, the Dons came from behind and walked off the Owls to win 7-6 thanks to an errant throw on the last play of the game.
Barrett Ronson got the offense going with a two run homerun in the seventh before Aiden Marquez and Evan Reiter drove home one each to tie the game.
Reiter came up again with the bases loaded in the ninth and hit into a fielder's choice to drive in the winning run.
Matthew Solorzano had another quality performance from the bullpen, throwing three and third shutout innings.
Santa Ana closed things out in game two, earning a 6-2 win.
Right hander Andrew Phillips fanned three, while conceding just two runs in five innings to earn his seventh win of the year. Colin Galvin struck out three in two and a third innings before handing the ball to Bruno Banuelos, who earned his fourth save an inning and two thirds of shutout baseball.
Offensively, Nikko Paoletto stayed hot, going 3-for-4 with another homerun while Ken Tomitaka added two hits and three RBI to lead the to the next round.
SAC will face a conference foe in Fullerton that defeated LA Pierce two games to one in their Super Regional. The Dons swept the Hornets during Orange Empire Conference play back in March.
First pitch of game one is set for 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
