Dons Open 2026 with Sweep of San Diego Mesa

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Santa Ana College baseball wrapped up the opening weekend of the 2026 season by completing the sweep against San Diego Mesa College (0-2).
The Dons (2-0) took game one by a score of 8-3 and then followed that with an 8-5 win to finish the series on Saturday.
Aiden Marquez led the way for SAC with four hits, four runs batted in and a walk over the two game span. In the series finale, the freshman infielder got the Dons on the board first with a two run shot in the third inning.
Nathaniel Williams, Ben Melendrez and Treson Arita added to the offense for the Dons as they recorded 3 hits each and combined for seven RBI.
Santa Ana's pitching staff held their own with starters Sean Kassawara and Zach Ireland picking up their first wins of the season.
The staff combined for 15 strikeouts and seven earned runs in the two games.
SAC will now prepare to head North for the annual Reedley College Tournament that starts on Thursday, January 29th.
