Anaya Beard's career night wasn't enough to hold off Mt. SAC as the Dons fell 77-60 in the second round of regionals.

WALNUT, Calif - Anaya Beard erupted for 38 points in Saturday's 3C2A Regional Round Two matchup against No. 1 Mt. San Antonio College but it wasn't enough as the No. 16 Dons fell, 77-60.
Beard looked unguardable as she torched the Mountie front court with a mix of drives and mid-range jumpers. The standout from Valencia High went 15-of-20 from the field, 8-of-9 from the free throw line for a career night.
Unfortunately, Mt. SAC countered that performance by outrebounding the Dons by 21 (46-25) while shooting 42.4 percent from the field and limiting their turnovers to just 10.
The Dons had one other player in double digits as Kiki Graham logged 11 points but did not get much production otherwise.
Santa Ana advanced to the second round for the first time since the 2016-17 season. The Dons will continue to build on their success as they are set to bring back several players for their sophomore seasons.
