SANTA ANA, Calif - No. 24 Santa Ana College women's basketball used a 24-15 run in the fourth quarter to hold off Riverside City College (6-21, 0-11) for a 68-60 win on Thursday night.
It was a much needed win for the Dons (15-11, 3-7) as they continue their push for a playoff spot with just two more games left in the regular season.
SAC found themselves down by seven (53-46) with 7:13 left to play in the fourth in a must win game and responded with great offensive execution down the stretch.
Faith Ledesma, who scored a team high 15 points, knocked down two of her five threes during the last stretch while Vicki Om (14pts, 5ast, 5stl) and Kiki Graham (10pts, 4rbs, 3ast) combined for nine points during the run.
In the final minute and a half, it was Mia Rivera (12pts, 3ast) who closed the door as she scored seven of the last eight points for the Dons.
Santa Ana saw all of their starters score in double digits as Anaya Beard posted 13 points and four rebounds to join the group.
The Dons will prepare to host No. 7 Irvine Valley on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
