Dons Defeat RCC 6-2, Secure Series Win

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Santa Ana College softball secured an Orange Empire Conference (OEC) series win as they defeated the Riverside City College Tigers (8-21, 3-8) by a score of 6-2 on Friday.
Sophomore utility player Valerie Villa started the rally for the Dons (7-21, 2-9) in the bottom of the fourth with a two out RBI single to tie the score at 1-1. Ihilani Berard then cashed in with a bases clearing double to left field, giving Santa Ana a 4-1 lead.
The Dons continued to add on the following inning as Aliza Mindiola lined a double past a diving centerfielder to score two more.
Berard allowed one more in the final but collected her seventh win of the season with a five strikeout, two run performance in the circle.
SAC will be back in action next week with another OEC three game series against Cypress College. Game one is set for Tuesday, April 7th at Cypress at 2:00 p.m.
