Berard Leads Dons to 7-1 Win Over Oxnard
Santa Ana College softball earned their first win of the season as Ihilani Berard shut down the Oxnard offense while added three hits.
OXNARD, Calif - Ihilani Berard led the Santa Ana College softball team to its first win of the 2026 season as the Dons (1-2) overpowered Oxnard College (1-5) by a score of 7-1 on Friday afternoon.
Berard, a freshman pitcher from Santiago High, struck out six and allowed just one run in six innings to earn the win. The standout also went 3-of-4 at the plate while driving in a game high three runs.
The Dons also saw Nevaeh Gomez add two hits and a couple RBI while five others posted a hit each to give them the offense they needed.
Santa Ana will now return home to host Southwestern in another non-conference matchup on Tuesday, February 3rd at 2:00 p.m.
