SAC Men’s Wrestling Starts Season by Defeating East LA, 48-3
SAC Men's Wrestling earned their first win of the year, defeating East LA 48-3.
MONTEREY PARK, Calif. - The Santa Ana College Men's Wrestling team collected its first win of the 2025 season as they went on the road to defeat the East Los Angeles Huskies by a score of 48-3.
Although the Huskies forfeited three of the 10 bouts, the Dons were still dominant on the mat, winning six of the seven that were actually held.
Anthony Marquez and Jacob Mott had the most impressive night for the Dons as both earned falls in the first period to give their team six points each.
Joseph Garcia, Micah Van Grol, Alexander Pichette all won by technical fall, giving SAC five points each while Roberto Shmuel, Aiden Shahrestani and Dylan Avila didn't have the chance to wrestle due to the forfeits.
SAC got three more points thanks to a 6-5 decision win from Tadeo Aragon while Aaron Lopez suffered the lone loss for the Dons, falling 7-4 in overtime.
