Dons Comeback to Earn 3-3 Draw against No. 14 SBVC

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Freshman defender Orlando Virgen took the penalty kick in extra time to complete a late comeback by the SAC Men's Soccer team as they secured a 3-3 draw against the No. 14 ranked San Bernardino Valley Wolverines.
The Dons (0-4-1) found themselves down 3-1 in the 83rd minute after SBVC capitalized on a misplayed ball for an easy goal. But they quickly responded as Kevin Munoz found Adrian Chavez inside the 18 for a shot into the bottom left corner of the goal just two minutes later.
In extra time, the Dons put pressure on the Wolverines and earned a free kick late in the match. After the cross, SAC had a couple swings at the loose ball before Fernando Salas was fouled inside the box to earn the penalty.
Freshman goalkeeper Carlos Valentin got the start and did well with nine saves. Ivan Torres scored the only other goal for the Dons.
SAC will be back at home on Friday to host San Diego Mesa at 3:00 p.m.
