SAC Alum Mike Taylor Inducted into CCCFCA Hall of Fame
Santa Ana College alumnus Mike Taylor was inducted into the CCCFCA Hall of Fame last weekend.
SANTA ANA, Calif. - Santa Ana College alumnus and former coach, Mike Taylor, was inducted into the California Community College Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame (CCCFCA) as a part of the 2026 class.
Taylor played linebacker for the Dons in the early 70's where he earned All-Conference honors twice before transferring to Oregon State for his final two seasons. He then returned to begin his coaching career at SAC in 1976.
Following his stint as an assistant with the Dons, the hall of fame coach spent time at Edison High (1979 State Championship), Laguna Hills High, and Placer High School before making his final stop at Orange Coast College.
Over the next 30 years, beginning as an assistant coach in 1986 and becoming head coach in 1999, Taylor led the Pirates to bowl games seven times and was the Mission Conference - Central Division Coach of the Year in 2000.
Taylor has also been a critical part of the CCCFCA as he served as the president in 2007, treasurer for multiple years while assisting with state championship game management throughout his time at OCC.
