Dons Track & Field Shines at Second OEC Meet
Santa Ana came in first in all 13 of the events they competed in on Friday afternoon.
FULLERTON, Calif. – The Santa Ana Track & Field team competed in another Orange Empire Conference meet against Fullerton and Golden West on Friday afternoon.
Santa Ana put on a dominant performance, winning all 13 of the events they competed in.
In sprints, Alexandria Owens and Malik Comford blazed past the competition in the 100m and 200m events. Comford posted a time of 10.98 in the 100m and followed that with 22.61 finish in the 200m. On the women's side, Owens won the 100m with a time of 12.54 and then took the 200m, coming in at 25.64.
Sophomore Eric Jimenez added to Santa Ana's score with wins in the 800m and 1,500m while Monique Azpeitia did the same on the women's side.
After the strong performance, the Dons will spend the week preparing for their San Francisco meet at Chabot College next weekend.
