SAC Beach Volleyball Set to Take on Riverside in First OEC Contest
Santa Ana will meet up with Riverside for it's first Orange Empire Conference contest of the season.
SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Santa Ana beach volleyball team is set to matchup with Riverside City College in its first Orange Empire Conference contest of the year on Thursday at the Huntington Beach – Newland Courts.
Santa Ana is 1-1 after falling to Rio Hondo and then bouncing back against Santa Monica on their first day of competition.
Faaaliga Mikaele and Naomi Ruiz went 2-0 for the Dons in their first appearance on the beach. The pair outlasted Rio Hondo's No. 2 team in three sets, winning 16-21, 22-20, 15-13. In their match against Santa Monica, they stayed in the No. 2 spot to take out their opponents 22-20, 21-19.
The pair hopes to stay undefeated and lead the Dons to another win when they take on the Riverside Tigers at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
