SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Santa Ana Football team will open the 2018 season at home today against the San Bernardino Valley Wolverines.
The Dons are looking to build off last year's success and hopefully bring home another American Metro League (AML) championship.
Santa Ana finished with a 7-4 overall record in 2017, rattling off six consecutive wins in the AML to win their first ever championship in the division. They went on to qualify for the Southern California Bowl against the San Diego Mesa Olympians.
In today's opener, the Dons will match up with the Wolverines, who went 5-5 overall, and 2-3 in the American Mountain League in 2017.
The Dons return a handful of starters that will allow them to make another run at a championship and a bowl game victory.
